As a new customer to SAP B1, there is much to like about the product. However, one area is delivering much frustration for us.
For many years our industry has worked on the basis of all pricing being inclusive of freight. We don't typically pass through the whole cost of freight and since the value of goods is independent of the cost of shipping them, a percentage of the price doesn't work.
This means we have different pricing for say for each state which vary by a fixed dollar amount, rather than a percentage. In Australia we don't thankfully have too many states.
To achieve this we have set up five different price lists. We have then manually uploading prices via the DTW for each price list.
What we would love to do is base all of these on a single price list and then on the other price lists specify a fixed cost markup to be applied. We also have situations where we give a fixed discount value to customers who pick-up from our store, but only some of them.
First of all I would like to rule out that I am not missing something obvious. You definitely cannot specify a fixed amount, rather than a factor, when basing one pricelist on another (either for the whole list or on an item by item basis).
Secondly, it appears what would be the best solution is to be able to apply a fixed freight cost and revenue amount and have it distribute to the unit selling price and cost of each item based weight. Has anyone seen such an approach before?
Any help appreciated?
